Midland Stroke Network

The Midland Stroke Network was established in August 2012 and meets monthly via teleconference with a quarterly meeting held face to face. Members of the network include representatives of senior clinicians, primary care, allied health, Maori health, stroke nurses and managers.
The key objectives of the network for 2017/18 are to:
- improve primary and secondary stroke prevention and reduce stroke related disability and mortality
- improve access to quality assured organised acute, rehabilitation and community stroke services, and
- ensure all stroke patients have access to high quality stroke services regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or geographic domicile.
