The Central Region Stroke Steering Group was established in October 2012 and meet bi-monthly. Members include lead stroke physicians, stroke nurses, an operations manager, a general manager planning and funding, an occupational therapist, speech-language therapist and physiotherapist.
The key purpose of the Central Region Stroke Steering Group is to facilitate the implementation of the New Zealand Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Management 2010 to ensure that risks are reduced and improvements are made in the provision of acute and rehabilitation stroke services delivered across the Central Region.
The Central Region Stroke Group hold two study days a year for health professionals working with stroke across the central region DHBs.
